vmstat for Mac?

posted Saturday, 2 June 2007

Short story, I'm looking for a vmstat replacement for my Intel based Mac. It is such a useful little tool that I'm surprise that Apple left if out of the standard tool set. I have been trying a few dashboard monitors but they just don't give me the combination of views that I can create while looking at vmstat output.  Of the bunch I've looked at istat is the one that I like the best. However it still lacks usable history IMHO.

So, if anyone has a system monitoring tool that they like (or any other tool for that matter) I'm all ears.

Hello Kirk! Definitely its not a vmstat clone nor has its options though I use it in my Macs! Have you heard of MenuMeters , it is installed in the upper menu area and provides 'real-time' sort of staticis regarding memory, disk usage, network etc etc!
