Microsoft has been showed up at a number of Java conferences lately. While QCon isn't strictly Java, it does dominate the agenda. This time the eye candy to attract geeks was a large coffee table with a built in touch screen. The device, know as Surface is fairly impressive though it looks like a knock off of a device demo'ed on a Ted talk a few years ago. Maybe MS bought the technology, who knows! All I know is i took the bait only to walk off with a beta copy of Windows 7.
I kept on walking over to John Davies office. He promptly grabbed the disk and created a Parallels image of it on his new MacBook Pro. Two minutes after starting the image, Windows 7 hung. Lots of fiddling later, same result. While it's not possible to draw any real conclusions, the initial contact with Windows 7 hasn't inspired me to move on from XP.
The initial contact with your blog has inspired me to never return
What, did I say something you didn't want to hear? You don't believe that
Windows 7 crashed? Do you think that I'm a Mac fan boy just looking to dish
out sh*t to MS? What inspired you to come here in the first place. Are you
an MS fan boy looking for more fan club rhetoric? It would be fun to
understand your objections.
Same story here, downloaded the official beta, after 20 minutes
BSOD!Actually some things remain the same, like the simplicity and
minimalism of a glorious Windows Crash!
